There are plenty of expenses that come along with a wedding, and the last thing we need is another hidden cost to hit our budget when we’re not expecting it. Here are some common hidden fees that you should know about.
- Feeding the staff. Your vendors will need to be fed too, and unless you specify in the contract that you prefer they have a different meal, you may end up paying for the same fancy entree that your guests will eat later that night. Be sure you contact the caterer and let them know how many of the staff you need to feed, and what they will be eating.
- Extra equipment. If you sign your wedding band without them knowing of the size of your venue, you could be hit with some serious fees the day of your wedding. If the venue is large, you will need extra speakers and lighting to accommodate the size. This means more time to set up, and extra costs for the equipment. Mention in the contract the size of the location, and if possible, bring them to the venue to be sure they know the size they need to fill, then get an estimate upfront so you can’t be charged later.
